Essence Guide: How to Earn More and Progress Faster

Essence is the core progression currency in Pawsome Elements. It fuels everything from unlocking spells to claiming cosmetic rewards. Understanding how Essence works — and how to earn more of it — is key to getting the most out of the game.

What Is Essence?

Essence is an in-game currency earned by playing matches. It is tied to performance rather than just winning:

• Better performance earns more Essence
• Strategic spell use can boost your Essence reward
• Placing higher in ranked games increases your total
• Even losses earn Essence — you are never left empty-handed

How Essence Is Calculated

Your Essence reward after each match is based on a formula that considers:

1. Base reward — A starting amount for completing a match
2. Position multiplier — How you finished (1st through 4th in ranked)
3. Passive skill multiplier — Multiplier from your unlocked passive skills

The formula rewards consistent, strong play across many matches rather than occasional lucky wins.

Passive Skills: The Multiplier System

As you progress, you can unlock passive skills — permanent Essence multipliers that increase your earnings. There are 9 tiers of passive skills, and each one you own adds to your multiplier.

This means experienced players earn more Essence per match than new players for the same performance. The multiplier system rewards long-term commitment and encourages continued play.

Doubling Your Reward

After each match, you have the option to double your Essence reward by watching a short ad. This is entirely optional — but it is the fastest way to accelerate your progression without any additional gameplay.

What Can You Spend Essence On?

Essence is spent in the Atlas — the central progression hub:

Spells Tab

Use Essence to unlock new spells. Each spell you unlock adds more tools to your strategic toolkit. Since spells are key to competitive play, unlocking them early gives you more options.

Journey Tab

The Journey tab lets you exchange Essence for cosmetic rewards:

• Card Skins — Change the visual design of your cards
• Arena Skins — Customize the look and feel of your play space

These rewards do not affect gameplay — they are purely about personal expression and style.

Tips for Earning More Essence

1. Play consistently — Regular play with passive multipliers compounds over time
2. Aim for top finishes — Higher placement means higher Essence rewards
3. Unlock passive skills early — The multiplier makes every future match more rewarding
